Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American actor and performer who started her career through innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a the most comical of perspectives. She then expanded into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came through the instrument of trumpet. Apart from classical music and jazz, the young Nora began studying hip-hop in her teens. In college, she studied journalism and women's studies. Then, she even had an hour studying Mandarin in Beijing. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until she finished her studies. After becoming famous through the Internet and her own track My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on the debut album Yellow Ranger. It also contained viral hits such as the body-positive Queef or winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The last track was connected directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, which was published in 2015. With musician and author in her portfolio, she decided to set her sights on a third endeavor actor. In addition to early television shows like Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored her first major role in a number of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP In Fina We Trust.
