Born in Barbados, she was able the joy of reggae, and even began singing when she was a young child. Afraid of her chaotic family life and endless arguments with her parents, she absorbed herself in music, and soon realized she wished to become a professional singer. When she was in high school she joined a group of musicians. They also was able to meet the music producer Evan Rodgers. He was amazed by her talents. Rihanna moved to New York so that she could pursue her full-time singing career. Rihanna made her debut album and became an instant hit.
